Alex Lechin, MD, FCCP, FAASM, attended Luis Razetti School of Medicine of the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela, and received his medical degree in 1986. Then, he completed a clinical pharmacology fellowship at the Experimental Medicine Institute of the Central University of Venezuela (1986-1987), followed by an internship in internal medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston, North Carolina (1987-1988). Furthermore, he conducted his internal medicine residency at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, TN (1988-1991). In addition, he completed his fellowship training in pulmonary, critical, and sleep medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas (1991-1994).
